The first annual ADC Business Awards Luncheon was held on September 14, 2012 at the Town & Country Club in St. Paul. This event is our way of recognizing the growing community of African-owned businesses throughout Minnesota, and celebrating the successes and positive economic impact they are bringing to the many cities and regions of the state.
Drawing an impressive number of attendees in a variety of sectors, these awards were a wonderful platform to highlight not only the important work of the African Development Center but, more importantly, the hard work, dedication, and regional benefits of this growing business community of African immigrants and refugees.
With ADC Executive Director, Hussein Samatar, playing the role of Master of Ceremonies, this luncheon featured remarks from: St. Paul Deputy Mayor, Paul Williams; BMO Harris Bank Executive, Shana Ford; and keynote speech from award-winning Economics Journalist, Chris Farrell.
